Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a very effective form of ground fighting that is widely accepted as the best art for Self Defense in the world.
Jiu-Jitsu originated in India centuries ago and has been refined to its current form in Brazil over the past several decades. Its combat superiority has been proven in countless no-rules fights, challenge matches, and mixed martial arts fights.
BJJ combines principles of leverage, momentum, and physics to allow one to overcome their opponent. It also incorporates joint locks, chokes, leg locks, throws and sweeps, allowing technique to overcome brute force or size.
